There are a ton of places for your on-location photo session around Pasadena. Here is a list of my recommendations to get you started!  *indicate my favorites

PARKS/GARDEN

Gwinn Park, Pasadena • Johnny Carson Park, Burbank • Mayor’s Bicentennial Park, Glendale • Montrose Community Park • Encanto Park, Duarte • Snow Creek Park, Walnut

*Ferndell Trail, Griffith Park - this is a fantastic location with lots of greenery and cute little bridges and trails but parking can sometimes be tricky on weekends

* Frank G. Bonelli Regional Park, San Dimas ($12 vehicle entry fee)

Santa Fe Dam Recreation Area, Irwindale ($10 vehicle entry fee)

Arlington Gardens - $100/hr permit fee

Lacy Park, San Marino - free on weekdays, $5 fee per person on weekends (free if you live in San Marino)

Los Angeles County Arboretum & Botanic Gardens, Arcadia (permit required) - $75 permit fee plus admission cost (2 sessions per year included for Garden Sustainer members and up)

Descanso Gardens, La Cañada Flintridge (permit required) - permit starts at $300 for up to 5 people (1 session per year included for Center Circle members)

Huntington Library, San Marino (permit required) - permit fee starts at $885 plus admission cost

Crescenta Valley Regional Park, La Crescenta

Pasadena City Hall - I love photographing sessions here but it has become an increasingly popular place for photographers. I recommend sessions here start on weekends before 10am

Brand Library, Glendale

Travel Town Museum, Griffith Park - Free Permit Required (14 days in advance)

Pasadena Colorado Bridge - great for maternity sessions, not recommended for family sessions with young kids

Walt Disney Concert Hall, Los Angeles

BEACHES  - $75 additional travel fee required

Santa Monica Beach & Pier

Westward Beach, Malibu
